Why and Our Motivation

Hi there!

I’m Martin, and I'd like to tell you a little bit about Videobackr and how it made its way onto the tiny corner of the internet that you’re in right now.

I created Videobacker for simple reasons. My team and I needed a basic tool that would help us be more productive.

At first, I built Videobackr as an in-house Loom alternative for us after some issues from Loom started to creep up.

And don’t get me wrong. At first, we loved Loom and used it a lot but it quickly became a headache—it was a bit too expensive, crashed often, videos lagged a lot, our clients didn't care to download it because of the long app instillation or being forced to pay to download videos, and on top of that the 5-minute recording limit was truly so unreasonable for recording feedback.

It also had a 25-video recording limit — yep, we ran through that in a few days.

It just didn’t offer us great returns for the trouble it caused, and I had to take on this project and make our own screen recording software.

So I cooked up a little something called Videobackr for my team and me, and after much debate (and maybe a few donuts), my team and I decided it was too awesome to keep to ourselves—who doesn’t love a good tool to share? :)

I wanted it fast, light, and easy to use/understand. No games, no tricks, just straight-to-the-point and good ol’ fashioned screen recording.

We have one button, “Record” and that’s it.

I made it browser-based, will need no sign-up to use, and lets you download videos for free

So no more long meetings-that-could-have-been-emails, unnecessary texts or calls, boring onboarding, or a gazillion calls on customer support. Just leave that to Videobackr!

If Videobackr has been useful to you, I'd be grateful if you'd pass it along to your friends. After all, good things are better when shared—just like memes, pizza, and Moo Deng videos.

Your friends might thank you... Or at least they’ll stop asking for tech recommendations!

Pricing and Tiers

Videobackr has Four tiers. A Free Tier, a Business Tier, a Pro Tier, and an Enterprise Tier.

The free version has 1 GB of storage space. This storage space will allow you to store more way videos than the 25-video limit Loom offers.

And if that isn’t enough (which it probably will), Videobackr also allows you to delete older videos to free space for new videos. Think of it as a sort of unlimited cheat code. The free version also doubles the length of Loom’s time allocation, providing 10 minutes of 720p High-Definition video-length recordings.

The unique links to the videos will be available on the Videobackr website for a month but can also be downloaded to stay on your PC for life. It has a watermark but it is placed somewhere very discrete—you won't notice it at all.

The Business version of Videobackr has even more perks to offer.

At only $49 a year per user, it comes with 100GB of storage space and was designed for a minimum of 3 team members—perfect for small teams and startups.

It also comes with a 30-minute video length of crisp-clear Ultra High-Definition 1080p resolution. The links on this version also have a 3-year storage lifespan, allowing you to reference or revise past videos whenever you need to and of course, download your videos.

You can also remove watermarks and add your own if you wish.

The Pro version is identical to the Business version, except for one teeny detail.

At just $69 a year, the Pro version can be used by a single person, making it perfect for people who create a lot of content around recording their screens like online educators, gamers, tutors, developers—the list is endless.

The Enterprise tier, though, is Next Level.

At $3,999 per month, billed annually, I designed it to have a thorough set of features that will help your organization create, share, and manage video content without any limits. With Enterprise, you get unlimited storage and unlimited recording time, so your company can create as much video content as you wish. You will get crystal clear Ultra High-Definition 1080p video quality, and the links to your videos will never expire, making it easy to share and access the highest quality of content anytime, anywhere. It has no watermark and a white label option, so you can brand the platform and videos as your own, helping you keep your brand identity front and center of your videos. The best part? Our enterprise system is self-hosted, giving you 100% control over your data and setup.

Privacy

Only you and the people you shared your videos with will have access to your videos. Even we can’t!

That said, there is a caveat we reserve while providing this service. We may permanently remove a video from our server if it's reported and confirmed to violate laws, or our terms and conditions. This is a caveat that supersedes the privacy allocation accorded by Videobackr.

You have exclusive rights to your videos.
